May 14, 2020 – I am writing to inform you of the results of the National Guard Testing that occurred yesterday. We had a total of 62 tests completed on-site. I am pleased to inform you that all 62 tests came back NEGATIVE. We, again, would like to thank the National Guard mobile COVID testing unit for their partnership. I would also like to thank Brendan Tedstone, Resident Care Director; as well as Nancy Johnson, Homestead Program Director; and our nursing staff for pulling this testing together. The testing process has a lot of moving parts and this team worked late at night and early in the morning to complete all of the details with very little notice from the state. I am thankful for their dedication to our Residents and staff.
As I am sure that you are aware by now, Governor Charlie Baker has announced a 4-phase plan that will begin opening up the state next week. There has been no indication of when and how this plan will incorporate senior living facilities. We will, of course, be taking in the guidance of the Center for Disease Control, Department of Public Health, Executive Office of Elder Affairs, etc. We have started putting plans together on how we will be reopening our Heritage community when the time is right. We thank you for your continued patience.
If an award were given for the most supportive families, Heritage would most certainly win! We would like to thank the Karsh Family for baked goods (my favorite was the snickerdoodle!); the McCann Family for the HUGE basket of treats and baked goods; the Green
Family for baked goods; the Meyer Family for more lotion; the Tierney family for granola bars, chips, drinks.
I am pleased to give you good news today. As always, it is an honor having you/your loved one
in our community. Stay well.
